5. Format scene breaks and line breaks

Wherever youd like a scene break, type three asterisks, like this:


Each of our professionally designed ebook layouts has a unique scene break decoration, so it wont look like there are three asterisks in your book—thats just how our conversion tool knows where to put the scene breaks.

Here are two examples (using the layouts Austen and Shelley):

Wherever you’d like a blank line (handy for poetry stanza breaks and more), type a line of nothing but two asterisks, like this:

 

That line will appear as a blank line in your book. Here's an example (using the layout Rowling):
