9. Format lists and remove tables

How to insert a list in Microsoft Word:

  1. Click Home on the top left of the screen.
  2. Click the icon with circles and dashes to insert a bulleted list, or click the icon with numbers and dashes to insert a numbered list.
  3. Do not include extra lines between list items.
  4. To double-check that your lists have been formatted correctly, simply highlight the list. In the Home tab at the top of your screen, you should see the bulleted list button or numbered list button selected.

How to remove tables:

Tables don’t display well on ebook readers, so if your table is simple and only has a few columns, we recommend rewriting it as a list (see above). If your table is more complex, take a screenshot and insert it as an image instead.
